Who owns Puppy Haven? ›

In 2013, founders Michael Dermer and David Sirzyk partnered with long time pet industry veteran, Laura Bryant to open Puppy Haven's first location. Their goal was to open a safe and loving facility to serve the Brookhaven pet population.

Puppy Haven Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) based in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, created to save dogs who have been neglected, abandoned, impounded, or forgotten. The dogs in these unfortunate circ*mstances did not choose this for themselves, but rather, this was chosen for them.

Creator Harland Williams was the devoted owner to his own puppy dog pals, Captain Chili Dog (a Chihuahua) and Fisherman Bob (a rare Korean Jindo), and Coyle has owned a number of rescue dogs, as well.

Rover Oaks was launched on October 15, 2001 after owner Steve Smith and his business partner spent nearly two years researching the pet care industry, surveying local pet owners' needs, and planning the state-of-the-art resort.

Create a Safe Space

Some dogs can be trusted to have free reign of the whole house, while others might need to be limited to a single room. Wherever your dog roams, make sure they have access to their comfort zone, whether it's a kennel, bed or, in the great outdoors, a doghouse.

They're cute and cuddly. Puppies provide unconditional love to their families. No matter what else is happening, a puppy adores the members of his family. The bond that forms between children and their beloved pet is unique and helps to teach the children responsibility and respect for all creatures.

Raising a puppy while working is tough, but it can be done. Puppies have different needs depending on their age. After those intense first few weeks, things ease off. A combination of planning, friends, and paid help will certainly be a great support for you.

While it's certainly true that using the word 'no' can stop a behavior in the short term (that dog very well may stop barking or jumping on you in the moment), the long term effect can actually result in an increase in the behavior that we don't want to see.

Puppy cuddlers are people who enjoy puppies. They like the smell of puppy breath... they get a kick out of watching the silly things puppies do... they find pleasure in cooing to canine babies... they have a fondness for feeling soft baby fur beneath their fingers.

How do you tell if a puppy has been abandoned? ›

If the dog moves in a confused way, looking around, without having a precise direction, probably it is a lost dog or, unfortunately, abandoned. If, instead, the dog moves quietly around, self-confident, probably it is a dog that usually stays in that place and, probably, it has someone who takes care of it.
